About eRezLife

eRezLife Software Inc. is a privately held company originally founded in Vancouver, British Columbia and has its head office located in Ottawa, Ontario. eRezLife Software’s goal is to provide customized software solutions to free college and university administrators from the mundane tasks of information management and report/summary generation so that they can shift the balance of their efforts towards improving the student experience. The eRezLife Software system was initially built for Chad, Co-Founder and President, while he was responsible for Staff Training and Leadership Development within the Residence Life department at the University of British Columbia. Since leaving student affairs, the company was incorporated and Chad has facilitated consistent growth in eRezLife Software’s client base, which has contributed to the continual enhancement and expansion of our system’s solutions and offerings.

Management Team

Chad Elliott, President

Chad earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of British Columbia and completed his MBA at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Chad applies the expertise that he gleaned during the 12 years he spent living and working in residence life to guide the development of our web-based software solutions. His focus on marketing and sales allows Chad to work closely with eRezLife Software’s clientele and to attend various conferences across North America. A rich combination of his residence life experiences and educational backgrounds allows Chad to understand your specific needs.

Derek Hemmes, Manager Product Development

With education in psychology, business and computer science, Derek’s professional history spans from working in public relations in the tourism industry to developing software for internet and design consulting companies. He has been involved in the design of eRezLife’s software packages since it began it 2003. Derek’s combination of strong technical, business and people skills allows him to effectively communicate with our clients to fully understand their workflows and processes.

John Simms, Manager IT

With over eight years of software experience, John manages eRezLife’s server environment. John graduated with a degree in Mathematics and spent several years in the software industry designing and developing multi-tiered routing/mapping systems and scheduling software. John combines his strong analytical and problem solving abilities with his passion for technology to help provide the eRezLife team with a solid technical environment.

Brian Clare, Manager Development Process

Brian graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a minor in French. With a keen interest in higher education informatics and project management, Brian is constantly working on systems to bridge the gap between interaction design and back-end development.

Jason Ladicos, Interaction Designer

Jason graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts in Film. Previous to eRezLife Software, Jason worked at the UBC Faculty of Medicine where he was involved on a number of web-based projects including providing support for an internal CV tool. Jason brings over eight years of web development experience to his role as Interaction Designer and is responsible for the overall direction of our user interfaces.

New ideas and solutions are driven and tested by student affairs professionals. Our Strategic Advisory Group is composed of a diverse network of student affairs professionals and current clients.
